    Welcome to Windrivers Tejari

Your motherboard is made by Gigabyte and the model is 8GDM but unfortunately this appears to be a motherboard made by Gigabyte for someone else and as such is an OEM which means Gigabyute don't support it.

Fortunately it is a standard Intel 915G chipset with integrated audio and video, so a quick trip to intel and a look through their 915g based board gets you these downloads Do not under any circumstances use the bios supplied by intel, it won't work.

You should download and install the chipset inf driver (2) first, then install the video (5), then the sound (3). Restart the computer between each install.

Let me know how it goes.

    Thanks for your reply NooNoo.

I downloaded DriverMax shortly afterwords and updated most of my drivers. That didn't work. I then found another option in this software, ''Identify unknown hardware''

It gave me 2 driver options, one audio & one video.

I updated the audio one and that was it, the sound returned. I haven't updated or fixed the video one, I still have a yellow mark in my video ''other devices'' section.

Setting aside that this looks like bot activity, start a new thread for your request and give full details on your system. Your inquiry has nothing to do with the original topic.

For all sound card problems with getting the right drivers that works on "Sony Vaio PCV-2232.
Well first of all,,, Sony Vaio PCV-2232 is not really your right model number. It would be,,, Sony Vaio PCV-RS420 and you can find all you drivers at: Windrivers http://esupport.sony.com/US/p/model-...PCVRS420&LOC=3 ,,,I know this is all true because I also needed the sound card driver.
I hope this helps you in many of ways. Thanks, Choppers

About sound problem, some time back my computer become just soundless. Then I had to call Support people and they give me this solution that worked out quite well in my computer.. They asked me to go to mycomputer icon and right click (click on properties), then I have the systems screen pop up go to hardware and click on device manager. The thing that I had to make sure that no unknown hardware, otherwise I may need the driver for the sound card. Then I just restart the PC completely, the other option suggested was to start-control panel-sound and audio devices and make sure that the correct sound card is default most computer's these days have two so must be checked... My problem was fixed after this solution,, so I may be lucky...

Why is it so difficult to find a solution on the Internet? Is it possible to resolve the following issue if I do not know what sound card has been installed: after reinstalling Windows there is no sound for videos? Like there are general Windows sounds but in any video player both playing online and offline there is no sound. I do not know what to do.
    Any help would be appreciated.
    Respectfully, Nick

Well, quite often it is because you don't look for the right things (yes Padiwan, your Google may be weak) or you didn't follow advice given.

So far, you have provided nothing other than this complaint - no system info nor have you indicated you went through all the steps outlined at the very start of this thread (assuming you posted in an XP thread because you actually have XP).

We really like giving help when we have time - work with us.
