    Blocking toolbars

Does anyone know of an effective way of stopping toolbars such as google, yahoo, aol, etc. from being installed. We have a constant problem of finding machines with these toolbars installed that interfere with our workstations and functionality. We are constantly going around to uninstall them or ghosting the computer to remove them. When we create the master ghost images and install the typical plug ins (Flash, Acrobat Reader, Java, etc...) we are sure to uncheck the boxes that install the toolbars, but during the course of staff and students browsing and probably downloading and running things they are not supposed to these things get installed. There are other applications I would like to block such as Webshots, weatherbug, and other annoying little apps, but the toolbars are our biggest annoyance.

After speaking with one of my fellow techs (which happens to be my brother) in the district he suggested we try and use the Access Protection in our McAfee enterprise to block these things kind of like we did Firefox and some proxy program called Torpark. I will post if it works

Yep, thats how we are doing it, thru McAfee, works pretty well! Its also set up so if its already on there it basically treats it like a virus and whacks it!
Failure is not an option -- its a "feature" of Windows.

Interesting, is there some free, or other manufacturer program available that does this that anyone knows about?
