    XP Operating System Reload

    Computer with XP home crashed, I went to reload the XP operating system on it and ran into a problem I have never seen. After the hard drive is formatted the XP files won't copy to the hard drive. I tried two different hard drives, two different XP Cd's and two different CD Rom drives. Does anyone have any idea as to what is wrong.

    The majority of Windows XP installtion problems are caused by defective RAM.

    It just says that the file can't be copied, to check to see if the XP CD is in the drive.

    An Update: I got the problem fixed, it was a ram problem. I pulled the one stick and the computer wouldn't start the XP installation. I put the pulled stick back in and pulled the other out and all went well. It is PNY DDRII 533 ram.
