Printing Issue
Hi All -
I have a user with a Dell running XP Pro w/SP2 trying to print to a local printer and a network printer.
Each time they try to print they get a message stating:
"The operation could not be completed. The Print Spooler Service is running out"
Running out? Running out where? To Lunch???
Anyone heard of this before and knows how to fix it?
How will all the racecar drivers measure themselves now that their "yardstick" is gone?

Hmm, there's an error "Operation could not be completed. The print spooler service is not running." Is that it?
If so, this error occurs because the Spooler service has not been started or has stopped working. To start the Spooler service, these are Microsoft's instructions:
1. Click Start, and then click Control Panel.
2. Double-click Administrative Tools, and then click Services.
3. Double-click the Printer Spooler service, and then change the startup type to Automatic. This sets the Spooler service to start automatically when you restart the computer.
4. If you want to start the spooler service immediately, click the Start button under the Service Status field.
If it's not that we'll have to investigate further.

If Platypus's suggestion does not work, I have found it best to uninstall the printers, reboot the system to clear the drivers out and reinstall the printer drivers again. The drivers for no reason at all become corrupt. Good luck.
It's not the computers that keep having problems, it's the users!!

A co-worker repeated the error message to me - wrong I might add...
The message was indeed - "Operation could not be completed. The print spooler service is not running."
When I went into the printers & FAX's window there were no printers showing at all. (There were at least 4 previously)
I went into Services and manually started the Print Spooler a couple times but it kept shutting off. It was popping up a different error message about some Print Spooler Subsystem error.
I didn't take that much time to write that message down because I didn't want to deal with it anymore. So I saved the personal data and re-imaged the PC.
How will all the racecar drivers measure themselves now that their "yardstick" is gone?
