    computer is slow

    Well folks I have been trying to get rid of what ever it is. I downloaded
    windows Beta ram test, and ran it, ram test ok

    Those Symantec entries look like left-overs from an earlier install. I note AVG is there now as well as some Trend Micro stuff.

    I'd recommend getting rid of the hodgepodge and then settling for one or the other. The registry is probably 'tres messy' and you may have to do some 'search' cleanups (Spybot tools system internals might get rid of a bunch but have a care - a-squared hijackfree is also useful).

    Trend micro is what I payed for a year. AVG is a freebie, I also have spybot 1.5. Ran CCleaner in safe mode twice and cleaned registry with same. My harddrive light is staying on all the time. I will run system XP and see what happens

    Uninstall spybot...
    The immunise feature doesn't play well with Trend
    You need to update Trend to version 15.30x and then try with Spybot 1.5
    There is a long knowledge base article at Trend for this (but you need to login - I can't link you directly).
    Never, ever approach a computer saying or even thinking "I will just do this quickly."
