The 'unknown device' -under what heading and is there any other info? ( http://support.microsoft.com/kb/298837/en-us ).
The computer id; 'P-D 3.0GHz' could be any of a number of computers/motherboards - is this a branded one or a home-built? If branded, make and model please. If home built, model of gigabyte motherboard please.

http://support.microsoft.com/kb/298837/en-us - didn't help me get any more infor about the unknow device, it's only applay for win98 not XP.
but i found out th unknown device is assosiated with the display adapter, so i will leave it alone for now.
my PC is home-built with gigabyte Motherboard model GA-8I945P-G.
it have Intel Lakeport i945P Chipset.
somehow it's detected the 1394 network adapter, that's good. but still it wont detect my camera

Is there a device 61883 in device manager? you want this patch and despite you saying you have XP SP2, if the patch works, it means that SP2 is not properly installed.
When you plug in the camera do you get any recognition from XP at all?
