MS SQL Server 2005 + Office 2000 - DBCC Trace On error

I have a number of users who run some Excel queries that they have created over the years in MS Excel.

We have recently moved to SQL Server 2005, and i have setup the new DSN to connect to the new server.

When the user tries to Edit the query in the Microsoft Query designer they get an "Unable to run DBCC Trace On" error message.

It seems that in 2005 the user must be a member of the fixed sysadmin role. Which I don't really want to do. ANy other options?

Are you running the latest SP's/fixes for SQL 2005?
