    Question ECW? HELP!

    I have a new 1.7Gig pentium 4 with 512MB ram,Sound Blaster live 5.1, WD 20.5G HD, Geforce 3 Video card, I built this machine about 1 yr ago, now it comes up with an error stateing: "Cannot open C:\windows\system\default ECW. Creative sb16 Emulation Driver not loading".
    I tried to reserve the IRQ 11 for the sound card, but still comes up with the same message.

    I would install the latest drivers for the motherboard's chipset. Especially the IRQ Remapping Utility.
    What's the chipset the motherboard has?

    The file is the default software synthesizer samples file.

    Uninstall your SBlive 5.1 (from control panel-> add/remove programs) and reinstall the from CD + any web updates..

    If this just happened out of the blue you might want to scan for viruses, they love to go for files in the Windows system folder.
    So, so busy lately. Oh, where do I start?
