XP Install Won't Detect HDD
I'm putting my old computer back together to give away, and I used to have RAID on this computer, but the two harddrives were separate. Now one of the two harddrives have failed and now I'm only going to use one harddrive. I formatted it with another computer and now the XP install won't detect the harddrive. When I disable the RAID, it won't detect it, and when I enable it I need to create an array but I only have one disc. Any suggestions?

I assume this is after you have changed the settings in BIOS from RAID to SATA or PATA and loaded the drivers for sata at the F6 prompt?
The lunatics are running the Country

Never, ever approach a computer saying or even thinking "I will just do this quickly."

Actually... no. I'm trying that right now to see what happens.

You need to use wipe or zap on the drive as it sounds like it has something in the mbr for the raid. Format wont do it
