Dual Monitors and DVD
I have not been out on site yet but not sure what this could be so I thought I would try and get prepared for it. Customer is using a laptop, Toshiba, and an external monitor but the external monitor, when he inserts a movie, won't work. Works normally while he is surfing the net or brings up doc.s but not with a dvd. Thoughts? He says it use to work before he had a hard drive crash.

It could be a DRM thing... some DVDs will not output to a different monitor and this is controlled by the DVD itself. Otherwise it may just be a settings issue with the DVD playback software or the Video card settings (Catalyst centre or NView).
Never, ever approach a computer saying or even thinking "I will just do this quickly."

I'm assuming you hear the sound but get a black video screen? I envountered that with XP and an old nvidia card, was a Video overlay issue. What happened to me was that it would only display video on the primary monitor

Matridom,
That is fairly typical of older dual head video cards. (or laptops)
The video would only play on the primary display, I've ran into that lots.
I'm not sure if it still happens with newer cards though.
