SSD drives
Anybody work with one yet?
I am not impressed with the battery life savings, but the boot speed sure amazed me! I noticed that the price difference wasn't mentioned either.

Nope... 2M hours mtbf is alot more impressive than standard flash... I wonder how they determined that as 2M hours is 228 years....
Never, ever approach a computer saying or even thinking "I will just do this quickly."

Used a toshiba that a client ordered that had a SSD in it. To say the least it ran like a frozen turd. They asked our office to speed up the system and I did everything I could possibly think of to increase the speed of the laptop. Thing had 4 gigs ram and a 2.4 ghz dual core in it and it ran windows xp pro like it was using a 1ghz celeron with 768 MB ram. We opted to reinstall the OS and still just as slow. We had Toshiba send a new one thinking the unit was defective. Same problems with the new one. I wouldn't get anything that has a SSD until they have 2nd or 3rd gen out.
