HP Laserjet Problem

I have a HP Laserjet 1020 printer which won't print the first time you send the job to the printer. Second time and after is okay but the first time is a no go.

I had the printer installed on Windows XP then bought a new PC with Vista and used the same printer installation disc.

Any ideas anyone? I have looked at the HP site but can't seem to find anything.

have you downloaded the new driver?

The disk always is the first release driver... rarely good!

Replace the driver with the "universal" LJ6, reinstall the drivers for LJ1020 then switch to the LJ1020 driver.
The new drivers are messed and the older drivers can't be found anymore.
