Hi,
Looks like someone found a fix.
I unintalled SP3 and try the USB and it would work.
Reinstalled SP3 and still would work.
I will now try Technogeek007's fix.
Will report back.
Thanks all.

Hi,
I tried the fix suggested by Technogeek007.
I deleted infcache.1 and restarted computer. Tried plugging in an USB mouse (old Logitech non-optical) and computer ask for driver. Let it search and come up with nothing..can't locate driver.
Check into the C:\windows\inf folder and the infcache.1 file is not there. Windows did not re-create it.
I think my problem is more severe.
Is there any other fix that I can try.
Thanks!

Try searching in system and hidden files for USBSTOR.INF (or anything starting usb)
It might me you need to put back files from your XP cd. instructions here
