Right click my computer and select properties, at the top of the general tab, it will tell you which service pack.
Do the hardware volume controls work? (see page 35 of the manual)
Does the fn+f1 put it into suspend mode? Does Fn+F10 mute the sound?

Yes, it is SP2
Volume control is working, but now via hotkey. Just the volume in tray like Windows default. It gives sound too.
Fn+F1 works.
Fn+F10 does not.

Could you read what I quoted and then rephrase it for me please?

There is sounds coming from the speaker of the laptop.
But I cannot control the volume using the Hotkey.
The only way to control the volume is using the volume icon in the tray (bottom right) of my XP.
Although the volume can be controlled from the icon in the system tray, I still want the hotkey to be fixed.

Right, but I asked you to see if the hardware button on the front of the laptop that controls volume works. Does it?

Dear NooNoo,
The hardware button is not working as well.
Thus, the hotkey and hardware button do not work.

Have you installed the powergear utility?
There is also a bios update available, but no notes as to what it fixes, might be worth a try.
