    Welcome to Windrivers slyman82

If you have already posted at other forums, then there is little point in repeating what has been previously said, since that will just frustrate you. If you provide links to the posts you made, one of us can review them and make further (perhaps more useful) suggestions.

Are you using the drivers supplied by Sony?

Well you signed up with the same user name elsewhere and there is quite alot of useful information about what you have already tried. The one thing you have not tried is the driver from Sony.

Sony's website support is something of a mess and links are dead since they have rearranged who does what. You should also know that VGN-Z1 and PCG-Z1 are the same. Here is your audio driver

If the page doesn't load for you go here and scroll down to "2008 Summer Series" and then scroll further to VGN-Z1, then choose between downloading all your drivers
Windows XP Downgrade Drivers and Applications for VGN-Z1 Series(Zip File)

    Or the individual drivers
Windows XP Downgrade Drivers and Applications for VGN-Z1 Series (Individual drivers)

    Accept the agreement and proceed...

I would then use this form to explain to Sony that their site navigation sucks big time.

In the UK, we have a nice little application that scans the system then loads the correct page.... much easier.
