I very much doubt it said the bios was bad.
It probably said it was outdated....

    What did it actually say?

hezyone: I thought that site gave better info. It seems they want your $30 so they say 'bad' Bios - but Acer doesn't have an update any different than what you have.

If it was really bad (present Bios), I would have suspected many problems, not just that single 'halt on' error.

In post 25, your CPUZ post showen 4 GB ram in dual channel at the correct frequency and FSB of 201 which is also correct.

I really would suggest just disabling that message as I pointed out in an earlier post.

As to 'speed', ram by itself isn't going to speed things up on just booting - it will make things better/faster in memory intensive situations.

    Just my opinion here anyway.

I wonder where bios agent think they are going to get a new bios from...

Bad in this case means out of date or older... hands up who noticed the unknown device had a tick against it's driver?

BTW Justice wants to know why OMG was banned for insulting members - CCT wasn't - Observating the thread CCT insulted OMG first OMG responded in like mannor.

BTW accusing members of being someone else is insulting.
CCT is correct as highlighted above: Channels Dual

Both CPU bus clock (201 MHz) and memory bus clock (nominally 333MHz for PC5300) are correct.

As has already been covered, CCT did not insult a member and was not on probation following a ban. Please don't thresh old straw.

And if it's yourself you are referring to as a member accused of being someone else, could it be anything to do with the fact that if the member name OMGmissinglink appeared on your posts, no-one would notice the difference? If you walk like a duck and quack like a duck, you're likely to be taken for a duck, daffy.

No, we have judged it not insulting. In either case, please leave the policing of the forum to us.
