    Nas file/printer sharing

    Hello !!!

I wonder if these NAS boxes can act as simple file servers for 15 workstations, And can also prevent 2 users working on same file at a given time.
I had these simple Xin xp pro servers I used to built, But there was a 10 useres TCPI/IP connection limits, Which I couldn't overcome, And I don't want to buy MS server software for this need....

They can - Windows storage server or Open-E, but they want to sell you the box as well. If you are looking for a cheap option, then build a linux box

It seems that I'll have to learn some linux, Since MS server licenses are quite expensive.

    Thank you !!!

It was once said that Linux is only free if your time has no value.... Jamie Zawinski

It's not that linux isn't good, it's that you have to learn alot before you can use it. It might be worth thinking just how much time you will charge your client to do all this against getting a Windows Server OS.
