MS DOS app though DOS Box - error code 127

I found some old abandonware games that I used to love.

I finally got them "installed" but when I try to run the application though DOSBox I get
    Code:
    Sorry an error occured,
    Error Code 127.
These errors are often related to insufficient memory.
I even tried running it though explorer, in 256 color mode, 640X480 mode, even with Windows 95 compatibility mode but I only get a DOS windows for about 3 seconds then it closes out.

    Suggestions?

These old games actually addressed the cpu and ram directly. Since things have moved on a bit, the addresses are no longer available.

I have a nice old p133 laptop running 3.1 overlayed on dos 6.22 for just such games

Finding an old laptop on ebay is still possible.
