Problem with Drives in My Computer

    Hello All.

I can access all my drives via My Computer okay with the only exception being being one of my partitions - The G drive.

When I double click I get the error:
This file does not have a program associated with it for performing this action.

If I right click this drive it has "AutoRun" at the top of the menu.
None of the other drives have this when they are right clicked.

    EDIT: Forgot to mention
Right Click -> Explore - works fine.

    Thank you

There is a little piece of malware that messes up the autorun feature... looks like you killed the bug but didn't remove the autorun from the drive.

You need to run an online virus checker, housecall or eset and update your virus definitions.

What virus checker do you use?
Never, ever approach a computer saying or even thinking "I will just do this quickly."

I remember this thing, hit us pretty bad back in 2007. There was a two step process to fix, first we ran the Symantec Removel tool (can't remember the name of the virus, otherwise I would give you a link) next we had to manually delete the autorun file.

The removel tool keeps it from further replicating, but the open drive command wont work again until you delete that file in the drive's root dir. Make sure you show hidden files and delete autorun.inf (like I said, it was almost 2 years ago, I am 90% sure that is the infected file name).

Scroll down to the 7th marked 'Drive' and use it.
