    Mp3 player not recognized

I have XP home with all updates to date. I plugged in usb mp3 player it was off,
and when I plugged it in, Windows popped up with windows found and is loading
drivers, A BLINK OF THE EYE and windows said one of the usb devices
attached to this computer has malfunctioned, windows cannot recognize it.
The same usb port I use my camera on and no problems. also Lexar media
jump drive works fine. Media player: Audio Solutions 512MB Personal MP3 Player
#C1700274. My lap top see`s it. My laptop is XP home with all the updates.
Both computers use Trend Micro PCcillin internet security. Could someone
shed some light this way please

Interesting how many computers built by "My Son the IT Professional" etc. seem to have mis-wired USB connectors.

Yup and mostly they just dont work.
Only time you get visual recognition is when the smoke demons come out and the board quits

Actually I wired up the usb on front case 4 years ago The USB does work
with My Camera and My Lexar Media jump drive. I believe The USB 2 port is
what My mp3 player needed to load up on. Also on front USB`s (2 of them
side by side) I had used a printer on same port. They are not miswired

Xp, I'm not contending you didn't set up your system correctly. I made an observation about how many "home built" systems don't work right. I do see many systems where the front USB ports are incorrectly wired, mostly because case vendors have confusing wiring schemes, and many "system builders" don't get it right.

But, if you still want to flame me, I encourage you to lick my *******.

I was merely indicating that its likely that the front usb ports were in fact USB 1.0 and that the USB 2 card was what was needed
