cant connect to internet
It is an Acer Aspire 5570Z -
has vista home premium, is a intel pentium T2080 @ 1.73GHz Memory 2GB
Have MS Office 2007 in it. Has a Atheros AR5007EG Wireless Network adapter - 4/9/09 version 7.6.1.237 and a Marvell Yukon 88E8038 PCI-E Fast Ethernet controller - 12/9/08 10.66.4.3
It shows as connected with limited access in the network connections but at the bottom it says not connected and i can not open anything
What do I need to check

Is the router allowing wireless connections? Do you have the right SSID and key?
How does the wireless NIC look in the device manager? Have you tried disconnecting then reconnecting to the wireless network.

Also, check to see if there is a switch for the wireless on the laptop, as I have seen that accidentally get switched off and cause problems like this.

If you right-click on the dual-monitor icon on the TaskBar then left click on 'connect to a network', what happens?

It tells me that the connection is unsuccessful - am connected to router but not internet. I have tried it wired and with a wireless pc adapter aside from the installed set up - no difference.

Maybe it's the router... is the router hooked up to an active network connection? If not, perhaps you should try to find a place to connect the router where you do get networking.
If a router is plugged into a port where there is no active connection to an ISP or IP assignment server, you won't be able to access the Internet with the router. So maybe this is your problem?

Have you always had more than one computer connected to the router?
