    Exclamation Another Creative AudioPCI (ES1371 ES1373) (WDM) Problem..No Sound

    I have no sound but the Soundcard is recognized by the computer.
    I'm running WIN ME on a HP Pavilion 8860.
    My original factory soundcard is made onto the motherboard and it went out. A friend of mine put in an old soundcard he had which is the Creative Audio PC! ES1371 1373.
    I had sound for 1 day before it went out and from time to time after a reboot, it has a steady persistent popping kind of noise or it will be no sound at all.
    I've installed the drivers for it after talking to HP support, but of coarse, that didnt fix the problem, and the HP folks seemed to be following a script and didnt know what they were talking about.
    Can anyone help????? PLEAAAASE!!!!

    Is the onboard audio disabled in the Bios?

    What drivers did you install? From where?

    I downloaded and installed WDM_A406 from Creative audio..Realtec ADI,Inc for the AudioPCI ES1371/ES1373.

    But I havn't checked the Bios to see if its diabled. But it's not checked disabled in the Device manager.

    I have to leave the house for a short short minute and I'll check it when I get back. Please hang in there with me...THANKS!!!
