XP upgrade problem to IE8
I have XP sp2 running wireless on Comcast that has IE6. Unable to upgrade to IE8, failed 6 times during the download process. Also tried to go to IE7 that failed during download. All it says is download failed.
Have latest antvirus and spyware on pc so it does not have a virus.
IE6 security turned down to Low, firewall off, the user I am loged on as has Administrator rights.
I have another wirless pc in the house that I was able to upgrade from IE6 to IE8 with no problems, it is on the same router as the pc I am having problems with.
Any Ideas ?
Thanks !!

Well, I wouldn't automatically make that assumption. I'd go ahead and run full scans on the machine. What are you using for malware protection? Is the Microsoft Malicious Software Removal Tool running before the IE 8 installation starts? The tool is specifically targeted at malware that might interfere with th IE 8 installation. If you aren't sure it's being run, you can download it from Microsoft and run it manually.
