All the upgrades I have done so far have worked great, except for one. 7 laptps in an office. All the upgrades went smooth, except for one. Had an old version of Itunes on it. It said during the install process to remove it first, but I didn't listen.

It will tell you what to do when you first try it.
But that's sorta backwards isnt it?
"She has a lot of programs" means you likely will have problems, so the best choice is a clean install. Then add then software back.

Yeah I have seen that many time Ferritt that's why I asked. She may not want to do it if she has to go through all that. I always prefer a clean install. To avoid any issues I will let her know this is likely to happen and see where she wants to go with it.

Why not run the upgrade advisor first, will give you an idea of what you may need to get rid off. remember, Vista is upgradeable, XP is not.

Yes I had her run that. In the end after asking her why she wanted to upgrade there was no real reason to upgrade since it wouldn't accomplish what she want it to. Cost was to high. Thanks for the input.
