    How to identify a processor

Sadly It's been 11 years since I looked at processors and could literally be able to read what the speed and type was on the chip. I now don't know what I'm looknig for since it's been so long. Anyway my issue is I took an old alienware that was sorely abused apart and scrounged all the parts out that weren't damaged physically. One of those was a Turion 64 mobile which is what my current laptop has. I need to figure out if this one is faster then my current one. Any tips or suggestions are greatly appreciated.

This proc must be lacking labeling then, I cleaned the chip off and it's blank, and the serial on the top doesn't have any matching strings to what you showed. I'll see if I can dig up a digital cam that can show what it is.

OK I realized I was overlooking it by assuming the while letter code was part of it. Anyway it gave enough for me to understand that I have a turion x2 on the working laptop so I won't be able to migrate it anyway and that is enough for me. I appreciate the help CCT and now I know how to read these better.
