i went from 2 x Raptor 75 gig (RAID 0) to 2 x OCZ Vertex 60 gig SSD's (RAID 0). One of my Raptors died...
The performance difference was night and day. Don't even look at the raptors. I would however do a LOT of research into the model of drive you are buying, make sure that it's got some of the latest features like TRIM and Garbage Collection algorithms. Also make sure you know how to maintain your SSD. Keep in mind support for the drive such as firmware updates etc.
For an idea on the performance.. I'm playing Dragon Age:Origins, Awakening right now. Pre SSD, it would take me 45 seconds to load the title screen, 1 minute to 2 minutes to load a game or level. Now, 5 seconds to title screen, 15 max for a load.
Looking briefly at the specs, this SSD looks like it's a Gen 1 drive, meaning not likely to support TRIM or Garbage collection. If you are going SSD, you might want to look at doing a 60 gig Gen 2 drive (intel M class) or one of the OCZ's that will be in the same price range.
Yes TRIM is **Very** important to maintain you drives performance. To give you an idea. Intel on Friday released chipset drivers that support TRIM in a RAID array. Intel's download site went down for several hours cause it was swamped with download requests.
Your final option is to wait till this fall/winter. Intel in partnership with someone (can't remember who) is introducing 25 nm NAND cells, this will effectively double the capacity of drives, increasing performance for almost the same price. Driver support will then be much better.

I can tell you I am not the least bit impressed with raptors
I have had a number die on me and I see relatively zero difference in speed.
How do I know that because I have windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit,
loaded on a 78 gig velociraptor and the exact same on a seagate 80 gig sata II.
There really isnt any appreciable difference in loading to desktop.
Windows Experience scores the 2 systems exactly the same
with the harddrives scoring 5.9
