Need to type in Hebrew

Hi, I have an HP laptop bought in the US, but I need to be able to type in Hebrew. I know there are websites (Gate2Home) that will allow me to type in Hebrew, but what I need is for instance to use Word to type a letter in Hebrew. Is there some software that will allow me to do this or I just need to install the Hebrew language pack to be able to type in Hebrew.
