    SpeedTouch 510 connect problem

I cannot connect to my SpeedTouch 510 router with my browser. If I type 10.0.0.138 I get the message the connection re-initialised.
Internet works as it should, I can ping to the router.

    Any suggestions?

Thank you for your reply, but it has always been 10.0.0.138?

Type ipconfig /all in a command prompt
    See the actual gateway IP
.138 looks weird for a router unless the person who set it was drunk. Sober people usually set routers as .254 or .1 (unless there are many routers in the subnet)
Some router web-based interfaces are set to only accept https connections, not http

panhead, you might want to look at this user's guide: http://www.speedtouch.net.nz/documen...up_en_r4.3.pdf Let me point out in advance that this link takes you directly to a PDF file. Generally, I think that's a really, really bad practice. But I've downloaded the file and I'd say it's clean.

I've seen some interesting things happen with routers and modems provided by ISP's recently; some of them don't have a browser based interface. One of our local ISPs uses Aris modems for their Internet and VOIP phone bundle, and they have no user configurable settings. They are pre-configured for the customer, and only the support staff can access or change any settings. I haven't even been able to Telnet into the doggone things.

So, panhead, it wouldn't be a bad idea to call your ISP's Tech Support line and discuss any concerns you have about modem configuration. They can probably provide the relevant information faster than we can sort it out.

Thanks for all the replies! I'll quote the original instruction (it's in Dutch, but you'll recognise the IP address ):

U kunt de multi pc modem benaderen via een webinterface.
Dit kunt u doen door het ipadres 10.0.0.138 in de browser in te typen.

After upgrading to FF 4 the problem disappeared.
