Question Trojans have rendered my PC virtually useless!

    Hi, Win Drivers.

I'm having a problem with my computer that is causing it to become extremely slow, and to a point where I can hardly do anything with it. At first, Firefox kept crashing on me. And I had to keep opening up a new window.

This unhelpful program I have found 29 trojan horses when it did a scan. Therefore, I can conclude that they've caused the issue. There has probably been more of these creeping in since then, but all of a sudden I'm not getting that warning message popping up every minute. But the tool I have only finds the problem; It completes the scan and tells me I must register with a company to be able to effectively remove any threats.

I am not able to use AVG to try to get rid of these viruses because I cannot double click on any icons on my desktop. The AVG icon used to appear on the bar at the bottom of my screen, and did a daily scan. However, no icons other than the web signal and clock show up now, so the AVG can do nothing.

When I want to go on Google or any other website, I must go to start and search, and key in the URL at the top. This seems to be the only way to get on the Internet for some reason.

I've tried cleaning my files, but the comp is still very sluggish. Like when I'm on YouTube or any websites that use flash or javascript, the page appears to wobble about and get stuck. It's really annoying.

So, is there a way I can get something done about this? If I have to do a reformat, I'll lose iTunes and everything else as well.

I've had problems like this before, but I have no idea where the viruses came from.

From another computer, download Combofix. Download it to a flash drive. Insert the flash drive into your computer. Start your computer in safe mode. Press the power button and repeatedly press the F8 key once every second until you see a black and white menu giving you different options on how to start windows. Choose safe mode with networking. follow the prompts until you see your desktop. Then go to my computer, and find the flash drive and run combo fix. follow the prompts, until it finishes. You will need to follow this up with Malwarebytes, and an installation of an antivirus program, if you do not already have an up to date one. If you have an expired antivirus program, there are many free ones you can find on the net. Avast, AVG, Microsoft Security Essentials, to name a few. Then run the antivirus program.

Couldn't have said it better myself! A humble suggestion; after you follow the above advice, make a seperate log in profile with minimal rights and use that for everything, only log on with the administrative account to load new programs. Lots of the new viruses are keen for loading in the background, and the profile that is not admin won't allow it to load.

    To add to the above,
Before doing this I would turn off system restore completely and then,
I would run combofix once again in regular mode and also download Malwarebytes install that, update it, and do a full scan.
