    Own website access

    Hello,

I used to be able to get into my webspace, in Windows XP, via Network Places and the website address, in order to Paste items I'd previously Copied.

Now have a laptop with Windows 7 and try as I may, by going into My Computer and Add Network Place and typing in the website address, and also the ftp version, it keeps saying 'Folder does not exist' or similar.

Still have old PC, so could get in via that, but really want to try getting in through Windows 7.

Anyone had similar problems and any clues?

The two people I've spoken to at my ISP have not helped. One was still using XP...

    Thanks, Margaret

just a thought but what about adding the url to the trusted sites on Win7s internet explorer. Another idea would be to try an alternative browser such as chrome, opera, or blegh dare I say firefox.
One Script to rule them all.
    One Script to find them.
One Script to bring them all,
    and clean up after itself.

Hi Mags Did you do something like this? Scroll down for the XP version. If so then yes there does seem to be a problem with Windows 7.

Can you explain exactly what you use it for? If it's a glorified bookmark, then yes, you need to start using bookmarks/favourites in your browser or just create an shortcut from your desktop. If you are trying to save the content exactly as is, then you can use a couple of methods to do this... or is it something else?

    Hello and thank you,

I don't think its the Browser for I used the same browser under Windows XP.

And NooNoo, yes I've tried everything you have said and still no success. No, it is not a glorified bookmark. I need to accesss the website 'behind the scenes' so that I can Copy from my Computer and Paste into the website area, so that the website is up to date.

In the meantime, my ISP have arranged for a 'broadband expert' to phone me next week at a specified time, so maybe he will solve it, as I sit here with phone in one hand and laptop on.

So this is your website? You are updating the contents of it? If so you can connect to the website in other ways. Perhaps you can explain a bit more?
