HP Pavilion Dv6 2010sa
Me again ..
Got a HP Pavilion in. LED flashes ( 2 times - pause - continuous) Indicates that the BIOS is corrupt.
Power going to board fans turning, nothing else happening, apart from the LED flashes. Unfortunately this is just out of warranty.
Would a BIOS update be worth trying or is it a case of replacing the BIOS chip?

Thanks CCT, I had come across that HP thread before, but still none the wiser.
I have the machine in bits ans boy does it have a load of screws. Would not like to put it back together and discover it needs a BIOS chip replacement.
Looks like there is an updated version of the BIOS...

Unfortunately the directions for use assume you can download it to the Laptop HDD.

Jeez..
I'm having a lucky spell when rebuilding these laptops.
Put it all back together in the hope I may at least get it to post. It did.
Have now upgraded BIOS and running machine to see if it has any problems, but so far so good.
