    M7657c UAA Drivers

I have a HP M7657C and it keeps asking for the Microsoft universal audio architecture drivers before I can instal the audo drivers for this machine and I have tried the UAA drive below but did no good. I know I have been through this before and found them but can't seem to find them this time and I'm in need of a link. Thanks for your help.

    What happened?

I assume you've obtained the remainder of the HP drivers? Chipset drivers installed? Checked if the Realtek driver package includes the UAA driver? Some do.

His hard drive failed and I installed a new one, went to the HP sire and got all the original drivers for the machine but it keeps asking for the UAA before I can install the realtek audio drivers.

Oh and there is no mention in any of the drivers of a UAA driver.

Sorry, should have said "happens", as in: UAA drive installs/appears to install but Realtek installer still requests it?

Maybe something wrong with one of the HP downloads? Might help here:

It's not the computers that keep having problems, it's the users!!

The thing is SP3 installed the driver. You actually need to go disable it in device manager, then uninstall it and try the reference driver at Realtek

Alternatively roll back SP3, uninstall the UAA and any other sound devices, then install the HP driver and and the UAA if requested (or just try the realtek reference driver) and then put SP3 back on.

Frankly when dealing with XP, I install with SP2 slipstreamed, get the drivers in, then put SP3 on and then update internet explorer last. Seems to go better that way.

Seems I remember I have this same issue with XP and HP before but can't remember what I did for it. This time I just through an old soundblaster in there and called it good. Tired of foolen with it. Thanks for the info for next time and I'm sure there will be a next time.

I edit the spam bit out... then I can see how many attempts are made.
