    Alienware laptop woes

    Hello all,

I am working on an Alienware M15 laptop. Powers up, but no video, or lights on the multimedia touchpad above the keyboard.

Tried RAM, battery, etc...none of that made any difference.

Replace video card - many posts about this. While I had it apart, I pulled the DVD player to remove a disc that was stuck in it (no manual eject that I could find).

Now, with it semi put back together, I am getting nothing when I hit the power button. Does everything need to be re-attached to get it to power up? I do not have the keyboard or the screen on it right now.

    Thanks everyone.

Yes, I have the manual already. That is how I got to the graphics card and DVD drive.

Besides that, it was very little help in troubleshooting this problem.

Did you look at the known issue link I posted too?

If you get to experience AlienFX issues with your computer as: the keyboard is not showing lights, no lights on the speakers’ area or similar, please perform the steps listed next:

    1. Drain the MB power (Turn off computer, remove AC Adapter and Battery, press the power button for about 20 seconds - the computer is not expected to turn on, reconnect the AC Adapter and Battery)

Yah, I found that earlier. It was one of the first things I tried before I opened it up...Didn't make any difference with it.

    Thanks for the replies, though.
