security essentials icon not showed
For some reasons the microsoft essentials notification icon wont show, but after I restart the computer it will. I know it's running in the background like it should be, since I get no warnings about the computer not being protected. Any ideas?

Welcome to Windrivers, MSE is usually well behaved, have you tried a manual update? Otherwise it's probably quicker to uninstall and reinstall. You could also check the taskbar properties, which OS?

XP hides inactive icons, not always correctly. You could check the hide inactive settings, tick or untick as necessary, reboot and set as you want it.
