    On Board Audio- no sound

I have an emachine about 3 years old. I had to re-install Win 7 64 bit. After completion I downloaded drivers for my on-board audio, but none of them work. Any suggestions?

I usually do the Windows update after re-installing an operating system, but i'll check that out to verify.
    Thanks for your help.

Frankly with the little information given it's very hard to give any help at all.
We need model number of the amachine.
We need to know what, and where you downloaded the "other" audio drivers.

I installed a new hard drive and installed Windows 7 home premium, 64 bit. I then updated it with 157 updates successfully. Included with the disc set was one for Applications and Drivers which I copied onto the desktop. I then installed the programs. I got stuck on the only audio driver listed, which was a Realtek Audio Generic driver. I ran the application and the installation was successful and required a re-start, which I did. Still no sound. The audio icon in the system tray says "NO AUDIO OUTPUT DEVICE IS INSTALLED". Help!

Thanks to CCT and his post of August 21, 2007, I was able to solve my sound problem. And thanks to Windrivers forums. I am very grateful.
