    Brag rights, part 2

I am in the process of switching from my old beast computer, which is an all aluminum full tower Cooler Master with a remote starting switch ( saw it online and had to have it! ) a huge window, Punisher fan grilles, lights galore, Blu-Ray burner, 24 gigs of DDR2 ram, a 920 quad core I7 socket 1366 CPU with hyperthreading, Office 2007, and Windows Ultimate 64 bit. ( Oh, and a black floppy drive that I just can't seem to part with.)

The new beast is a Dell Precision T7400 with dual quad core Xeon 3.2 gigahertz chips, up to 64 gigs of DDR2 ram ( But I''ll stop at a mere 32 gigs because it is silly to have 64 gigs! ) A blu-ray burner, Sli video cards, twin 3 terabyte hard drives in RAID, Windows 7 64 bit Ultimate, Office 2010, and a silver floppy drive.

I know that I don't need all of that, but it really annoys the guys at work that I have them beat.

To be really cool, you need a SSD. Otherwise, it's a pretty OK machine.

Drat... Ok, Ok, I'll add that to the shopping list. Maybe if I stop buying frills like lunch I'll just make it.

Don't connect the floppy drive until you need it - slows everthing down.
Never, ever approach a computer saying or even thinking "I will just do this quickly."

I don't; the front of a computer just doesn't look right to me unless there is a floppy drive there. I guess I am just an old fogey.

You could always just stick the fascia plate off an old floppy drive into the case.

But then how would I play the "Imperial March" from Star Wars? I might need a spare.

Sometimes she speaks incessantly to me, and when she is mad at me, she is quiet. Guess which I prefer?

52" monitor... so a wireless keyboard and a desk at least 10 feet from the screen!
