    Momentus XT Raid 0

    I have a Momentus XT 500gb hybrid and a NON Momentus XT 500gb hybrid is it possible to raid 0 these 2?
    i7 3930k w/ Asus Sabertooth x79
    440 SSD Raid 0 + 2TB Hdd + 1TB Hdd
    GTX 980 SLI
    32gb DDR3 1866
    Corsair H100 (Push Pull Slip 2000rpm Fans)
    EVGA Super NOVA 1300 PSU
    Level 10 Gt Case
    Win 8.1 Pro

    You could do it...but I wouldn't. The hybrid would be much faster by itself.

    Then there's the part where Raid 0 is dangerous.. One little burp and you lose all data on both drives.

    Unusual question. I agree with Steve though in that likely the momentos hybrid would be faster on its own. What's more because it is faster i suspect problems if you raid it with anything but a drive that's the same.
    I have no prior experience to relate but it seems to me the memory on the hybird will cause some serious file write problems

    Let me be even more negative and add that any performance gains which you theoretically see in RAID 0 are generally offset by controller overhead in practice. Not to mention reliability and data integrity issues. I think what's going to happen here is that you will end up with an array that performs at the level or your slower drive. For multiple reasons, I wouldn't do it.

    See I know that you have to have the same kind of drive. But I wasnt sure about the hybrids 4gb flash. Theres some posts that says you cant raid 2 hybrids because it cause freezing issues. So I wondered how a non hybrid would work and now I know. And knowing is half the battle. Thanks Guys
