Please help with no internet connection!!!

Working on this Compaq S6500nx, installed Win XP, I have everything working but I can't get on the internet...the Ethernet adapter seems to be the prob, but on the device manager I only have 2 Yellow questions marks which are Multimedia Audio Controller and PCI Input Device.

In addition, my research tells me that I need to update the driver for the Ethernet adapter, but I'm not having any luck. Please help??

Thanks. I figured out my error which it is embarrassing, anyways, now that I got it up the sound and cd/dvd drivers aren't working (only works when I use a OS disc). Now on the device manager screen it doesn't show any probs with those devices. Any suggestions?

Ferrit's suggestion or use this fixit or manually remove the filter drivers.
