Naked Man Shot by Police While Chewing Off Victim's Face
Well, that about sums it up. Usually, I like to quote parts of any stories to which I link, but AP's acceptable use policy prohibits this. Anyway, this story is about Miami police shooting a naked man who was eating the face of another naked man. The perp responded to police orders to stop by growling at the officers, then renewing his assault. Tell me this isn't creepy.

Or the beginning of the coming zombie apocalypse. This really creeped me out.

Down right disgusting.
Last thing I remember, running for the door,
I had to find the passage back to the place
I was before.

I understand this is a bizarre thing but I don't see the medias obsession. There are only so many ways to say "man goes nuts and eats someones face". The victim on the greyhound several years back who had his head cut off and the attacker was eating parts he cut off didn't get nearly this much attention. Sure it was feral and violent but humanity has been worse, Death Camps like Auswitz & Unit 731, Ancient Chinese torture meathods, the Inquisition, various war crimes throughout history, even some ancient and recent military methods are horrific. The list can go on and on, and MANY can pale this act that is in the news now. If you want scary and un-natural do a news article on someone who can calmly do a horrific act without the aid of narcotics/alcohol and is considered clinically sane before and after the fact.
Sorry but I just find the whole media blitz on this to be amature and childish.

Horrific sells news papers and they are all about posting the biggest and loudest stories to sell their wares.
Truly sad to give this act any publicity at all. Kinda puts the people doing the news in a category not too far from the the guy.
Just imagine some your own children happening to see the paper and reading the article?

In the recent mis-stating of facts about cannibalism by the media I decided to make this lovely image to share with the world.

Jack Shafer has an interesting blog on the Reuters site where he discusses the quality (mostly the lack thereof) of mass media reporting on this issue, and specifically as it relates to drugs. It isn't only lemmings that run over a cliff en masse.

This story is like a mosquito bite: I know I shouldn't scratch it, but it is really hard to stop.
