You could have bumped teh vid card check to see if it is seated correctly.
I hope that someday we will be able to put away our fears and prejudices and just laugh at people.

Geezer
I think you have an irq conflict, before we go any further will it start in safe mode?
Can you also post your video card, sound card amd motherboard details?

Simple test.. does the video card still act up if you remove the sound card.. If the card still acts up, it's a vid only issue. if it clears up, look into your snd card.
You need to determine what is causing the problem.

By the way it sounds, it sounds like your pushing your video card to far. Double check to make sure everything is in tight, and that your two cards don't have a history of incompatability problems.

My video card(4mb AOpen) works fine when the sound card( Vortex Advantage) is not there , It does go into safe mode after I have to manually restart when it will not load the vertical lines appear at the bottom of the screen.Asus tx97-e motherboard.

does the board happen to be an aopen pt75? i used to have that board with a biostar tx based board, and with that video card i couldn't use a pci MPEG decoder card or a PCI sound card... there might be a compatibility issue.
So, so busy lately. Oh, where do I start?

Is the video card AGP or PCI? If its PCI make sure its in the top slot.
