Microsoft cancels Security Essentials for Windows XP - REVISED

Windows.MIcrosoft.com > Support is ending soon
After April 8, 2014, technical assistance for Windows XP will no longer be available, including automatic updates that help protect your PC.

Microsoft will also stop providing Microsoft Security Essentials for download on Windows XP on this date.

No surprise, XP has been out of mainstream support for years.

    It's time as well
Windows updates for xp are to say
the least right now, hideous at best
and plain stupid at the worst.

The fact that Microsoft will stop providing MSE for download on Windows XP is a new revelation.

    Here's what they're saying now:

Microsoft.com > Support is ending for Windows XP
... after April 8, 2014 ... Microsoft will also stop providing Microsoft Security Essentials for download on Windows XP ...

(If you already have Microsoft Security Essentials installed, you will continue to receive anti-malware signature updates for a limited time, but this does not mean that your PC will be secure because Microsoft will no longer be providing security updates to protect your PC.)

I guess I should be scared. They do say ignorance is bliss.
I will probably continue to run xp until the hardware fails and xp won't run on the new replacements.
Looking forward to the new Asus Transformer.

You can run Android os (ignore Windows 8) and it is stereo.
    Something the old transformers weren't
