16973 malware on android phone

I checked my data usage and I noticed that something called 16973 has downloaded 2.5 megabytes of data in the background. I did a google search and found that there is a 16973 type of Trojan.does anybody know what this could be on the Android and how to get rid of it.

I set it to restrict background data. Maybe that could stop it as a workaround.

I ran a scan in Lookout (like AVG or Avast) but it didn't find anything.

Run a virus scan from AVG. Since your post in the other forum turns up nothing, I think it is a subset of allowed programs on your phone.

tried a AVG and Zoner and they didn't find anything. Do you know if that really is a malware.

I originally found it going through the usage under data. It was in the list of programs that downloaded bandwidth. It showed that the download was in the background.

16953 has an android image in data usage.
Does that mean its a system process? Or could it be malware?

no. I posted the same thing on the droid forum on January 19th 2014, not july 2012.

why do you think I shouldn't get an opinion from two different forums. But let's not get off the topic. I still didn't get the answer I'm looking for.

I would do a factory reset, you can never be sure that the malware will go away.

Of course, anyone can't avoid malware if he/she doesn't use related protection tools. I personally use Eset Nod32 mobile security for Android.

Note: There is no 100% perfect Anti-Virus, Anti-Malware, Anti-Worm, Anti-Trojan or Anti-whatever solution. The only way to be 100% certain the Operating System has not been altered is to do a fresh install from a known-clean source.
