I have an external hard drive what I use to store personal financial documents like old tax returns etc., as well as other personal files like family pictures and honeymoon pictures and other irreplaceable files. I really just encrypted the drive for the heck of it and never had any problems with it. I used TrueCrypt to encrypt it and also used it to mount it and access the files. One day I went to mount the device and at first it wasn't recognized as a TrueCrypt device. I restored the header from backup and I am now able to mount the device. The problem now is that it seems that the file system has somehow changed to RAW instead of NTFS. Is there any way of restoring the file system to NTFS without having to reformat, or ar least recovering the data that is on it. Any help would be appreciated.
