Unhappy thunderbird not compatible with AVG anti virus

I had thunderbird running on win 8.1 with Mcafee anti virus.

I switched to AVG, now I found out AVG doesn't support thunderbird.

Any suggestions on which email client to use?

    Ya get rid of AVG
    Kind of a simple fix
Thunderbird is a decent email client
Think of it this way: How much confidence should you have in an AV product who's developers can't maintain compatibility with one of the significant email clients out there?
