How fast is your connection to the internet? USB 2.0 can handle 480 Mbps, 3.0 5 Gbps, 3.1 10 Gbps.

USB 2.0 has a maximum data transfer rate of 480 megabits per second (Mbps). That's equivalent to 60 megabytes per second (MB/sec). The PCI bus provides up to 133 MB/sec data transfer to devices.
USB 1.1 = 12 Mbps (1.5 MB/sec)
USB 2.0 = 480 Mbps (60 MB/sec)
USB 3.0 = 4.8 Gbps (600 MB/sec)
PCI (32-bit 33 MHz) = 133 MB/sec
PCI Express x1 = 250 MB/sec
PCI Express x4 = 1000 MB/sec
PCI Express 2.0 x1 = 500 MB/sec
PCI Express 3.0 x1 = 1000 MB/sec

Thanks for answering, the reason i asked is because my older computer which uses a usb adaptor appears to move faster, than my newer computer which has an internal adaptor.

rtrottie, you would have to provide full specs of both comps and their components and configurations to get specific advice.

An easy way to do that is to download, install and run Speccy. Click File > Publish Snapshot > Yes > Copy to Clipboard and then paste in the URL you just copied into a Reply to this thread.
Then repeat on the other computer.
