Hi,
I have installed a Sandisk 240GB SSD into my desktop, to complement a 1TB HDD.
On the HDD, I have 4 partitions, C,D,E, & F. Partition E is currently my boot partition containing Win 7.
Not being confident in carrying manual config, I used 'Paragon Migrate OS to SSD 4.0'. All that appears to have been done using this app is just a clone image of my E:. My desktop still boots from the E:.
Please advise what steps I need to take to boot from the SSD as an E:, so I can free up this partition for other uses.
What happens if you temporarily disable/disconnect the HDD and then try booting from the SSD?
Hi.
Thank for your attention.
Discon HDD, Windows wouldn't boot, just kept restarting. Windows then did a start-up repair. Unable to resolve with the following:-

I re-run Paragon Migrate again, and this time it appears to have worked. An extra small partition has also been created on my HDD. I'm assuming this is a backup partition.
I also booted OK without the HDD connected. However, I still need to satisfy myself that all is OK. Is there a Utility out there which would confirm the boot is definitely coming from the SSD.
If the SSD is the only drive and the computer is booting Windows, it must be booting it from the SSD.
After installing my SSD, I am now confused over my Disk(s) layout. I have attached a jpg screenshot of my HD.
If I am looking at this right, my 240GB SSD is drive 'E', but why is it sitting as 'Disk 0'?
Since install, A Disk 1 has been created?
New Volume Z has been renamed, because I wanted to move this space to one of the other partitions. It did have what appeared to have been a clone of my Windows folders, as well as Volume K. Both these partions were created during the Paragon Migrate process.
Question
Is my SSD drive correctly shown as Disk 0, with my other HDD partitions?
If this is considered as ok, can partitions Z & K be merged into one of my HDD partitons. I don't think Win 7 will allow me to do this.
Can my partitons be tidied of best to leave alone.
