need APM driver for windows 3.1?

I have a old Cyrix Mediagxm laptop , That I have windows 3.1 installed to it and I can't get the APM driver that comes with it, When I select "ms-dos system with APM" the windows 3.1 installer freezes on the screen where you type in your name producy number at and it won't allow me to do anything. So if using windows 3.1 on a cyrix mediagxm cpu does it require a APM driver that is for Cyrix processors? I do know laptop does indeed support APM 1.2. I do know the APM driver provided with windows 3.1 is a Intel written driver, wondering why its not playing nice with a Cyrix processor. Anyone know of a different APM driver to use , or get the APM driver with windows 3.1 to work?

Welcome to WinDrivers MichaelWeaser. The only item at present that may help would be THIS, look under the Wndows Setup and there is the section of starting the APM during the setup.
It's not the computers that keep having problems, it's the users!!

Issue I have tried that It doesn't help at all , when I install it and select "MS-DOS System with APM" it freezes the installation eventually , and I have to install it without APM for it to install correctly. I do know that some laptops do require Custom APM drivers which was mainly compaq and early windows 3.1 laptops and if they used processors that isn't intel. I need to find a APM driver that will work, I think the APM driver with windows 3.1 isn't working because the processor isn't Intel but a Cyrix. I need help finding a different APM driver , Which I can't find at all.

Found the fix for it, after all this time, putting power.exe into ms-dos autoexec.bat fixes the issue.
