Good Dual Socket 370 Board with IDE Raid?
Any suggestions for a dual socket 370 board with an integrated IDE Raid controller?
Thanks.

We currently use the SDVIA motherboad from Rioworks http://www.rioworks.com
It is an excellent board with built in RAID controller and has caused us no problems at all.

Thank you for the suggestions.
I am looking at what is readily available locally. I can get the Abit board easily, and it seems to be very well featured.
If we take the integrated RAID unit out of the equation, which would you suggest, the Giga-byte GA-6VXD7 or the slightly more expensive Asus CUV4X-D? Any others?

I would still go for the RAID for the extra expansion it offers. You don't have to use the RAID controllers as a RADI and can use them as normal IDE channels as well. Worth the little bit extra in the long run.

Thanks, Darren.
I am costing out the option of something like a Promise SuperTrak 100, an IDE RAID 5 card, instead of the onboard RAID 0, 1, 0+1 controller. To get speed and fault tolerance with the onboard unit, four drives are needed. With the RAID 5 card, only three are needed. With the price of larger drives and the lower cost of the non-RAID mother board, the RAID 5 option is still more expensive but not by as much as it would appear to be at first glance. I still may end up going with the onboard controller anyway, since the cost differences here are minimal.

I have been using this MB with Dual PIII800E for 4 months. It rocks! Make sure you get Register ECC memory with it.

I'm using a VP6 and at first I only had one processor running on it. you won't need the terminator, it runs great with just one cpu.
you also won't have to worry about putting the processor in the #1 socket. either socket will work just fine.
this is the third time today I have mentioned this Mobo in the forums, I gotta call Abit and get some advertising $$$ from them.
