win2k monitor question
on this box it the monitor is in "device manager" and in display properties it says "plug and play monitor",and I can click on "properties" for the monitor.
but on the other 2k box,it does not show up in device manager and it shows up in display properties as "default monitor",and I cannot click on "properties".
this is the root of the problem I believe.
how do I force the plug and play monitor or atleast new drivers into it? I can't get into "properties for the monitor to change it.
and I found all this out because the "power off" for the monitor will not work.

Have you tried right clicking on the desktop, selecting properties then settings, then Advanced, then monitor tab. from there you click properties again.

I know that anybody running the Creative Labs Dxr3 decoder card software under W2K had the problem of the "default monitor" being unchangeable. Once the software was removed, the problem went away. You may have a similar problem, but I don't know what software could be the culprit. Probably your video drivers. Can you try something else...another version... ?

Or try removing the monitor all together and let Win2K redetect it.
