    Post AGP slot????

    i want to buy a video card, one of the pc-system preferences is:"AGP 2.0",
    now how do i know i can place this card in my pc??

    At the moment i have a 'ATI rage IIC, AGP', but what with 'AGP 2'?

    AGP video cards can come as either 2x or 4x. The 2x AGP card with work in any AGP slot. But in order for the 4x to work, your mobo needs to support 4x. To identify your AGP slot, refer to your mobo manual.

    There is more to it than that Webhead, there are different voltage levels to consider and also the AGP pro etc.. the 2X/4X is another thing to be considered, usualy it's unimportant because either the card or the motherboard will throttle down to the necessairy speed.     If I remember correctly, 1x and 2x are the same voltage, while 4x is a lower voltage at the slot... AGP pro is just a longer set of contacts for a larger bus? Anyway, back to my browsing...
